laptop overheating solutions
Why does my laptop overheat only whenever I use Flash,Video games or streaming video?

I have advent 7104 with XP professional SP2 installed as an operating system. I have had it for three years. Its major problem is overheating and it has been persistent for the last two years . I tried to look the problem over the web, for any technical advice but I failed to find a matching to my problem.
My laptop only overheats if I do any of the following:
1- browse internet pages with Flash adverts on.
2- watch any streaming video in full screen.
3- play video games which require much less than my laptop memory / video card.
The CPU usage jumps from , usually, 10% to 100% at once whenever I do any of the above. Once I minimise any opened application from the above, the CPU usage goes down to its normal about 10% also at once. However if I don’t do that , my laptop will shut down in few minutes.
I hope someone has the solution for this pesky problem.

Apologies for my broken English and I hope I exposed the problem clearly.

open task manager (CTRL ALT DEL) and go to the processes tab, click on the CPU colomn (until the little arrow points down so the usage comes to the top) and see what program or process is doing it, ignore system idle process because that is the amount of CPU not in use. google the process.

you should do a virus and spyware scan.

go to www.download.com and download
Spybot search and destroy
AVG

also make sure your graphics drivers are up to date, and your Java and windows are upto date.
