Delete computer History
While you surf the Internet, your hard disk drive saves every item that you have viewed. So, a variety of information is stored in your computer, which is related to your browsing habits like the websites that you have visited, data that you have entered on these websites etc. Generally, the storage of such information can be useful as it can perk up the speed at which you browse. This happens because the web pages that you visit often load faster as the files are loaded from your hard disk drive instead of downloading the web pages once again. Besides, the storage of such information on your hard disk also automatically suggests information/data that you have typed before. This can facilitate you to work at a more rapid pace as you don’t have to type the same information/data again. However, all these can critically compromise your privacy and security by making your browsing habits available to anyone who can access your computer. So, using your computer, people having prying eyes can see what websites you have visited and what data or information you have entered on those sites’ web pages.
If you want your hard disk drive space not to get jammed by the saved information about your browsing habits, you should delete your computer history. Such deletion will also keep your Internet browsing habits private. You can follow the steps described below to delete computer history:
For Internet Explorer 7:
• Select “Tools” and then “Internet Options”.
• After that, open the “General” tab.
• Click the “Delete” button listed under “Browsing history”.
• In the window labeled “Delete browsing history” click “Delete all” first and then opt for “Yes” button to delete your entire browsing history. However, if you want to delete only some specific items, check the boxes beside the relevant categories and then click “Yes”.
For Mozilla:
Click the “Tools” menu to get a drop down box. Select “Clear Private Data” from there. This will erase all your passwords as well as personal data from the computer. You should also uninstall any third-party “toolbars” and “extensions” like the Google toolbar, Yahoo search bar etc separately.
Instead of the procedure listed above, Mozilla users can also delete computer history by pressing three keys marked Ctrl, Shift and Delete. This will open the Clear Data Window from where the users can check the relevant boxes to clear some specific browsing history or erase the saved Internet history entirely.
For AOL:
Find the “Settings” button at the top section of the AOL window. Click on it and afterward select “Preferences”. Next, select “Toolbar and Sounds” and then click “Clear history trail now” button.
For Netscape:
Netscape users can delete computer history files by clicking the menu marked “Edit” and then select “Preferences”, “History”, and finally click on the button marked “Clear History”.
For Opera:
Opera users can delete computer history by clicking the “File” menu at first and then choosing “Preferences” and “History” one after the other. Next, the button marked “Empty now” should be chosen. In addition to this, Opera users can also check “Empty on exit” if they wish that their browsing history should get erased every time they leave their browser.

that’s been deleted on my computer? I know that it gets stored somewhere but I can’t remember where. Also, is there any way to find old messenger conversations? Does your computer save those along with the rest of the internet files?
